Kindergarten December Newsletter
Can you believe it’s December already? I want to thank all the parents who donated items for our Thanksgiving Feast. The children really enjoyed their meal!
We will be working on the letters Nn, Ii, and Gg in the month of December.
In Math, we continue to work on the numbers 1-20. Please practice number formation with your child at home.
In Science, we will discuss winter. We will talk about animals that hibernate. We will discuss snow and winter weather.
In Social Studies, we will discuss how different cultures celebrate the holidays.
The children will be singing holiday songs at Akron Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, December 6th. Children need to be there at 5:00 pm. We will meet inside the lobby of Building C. Tree lighting outside will be at 6:00pm. There will be crafts, hot cocoa, cookies, and a visit from Santa immediately following the tree lighting ceremony.
We will be having a visit from the librarian on Friday, December 8th at 9:30 AM.
We are asking everyone to wear a holiday sweater on Tuesday, Dec. 12th.
We will be making gingerbread houses on Thursday, Dec. 14th.
We will be having our holiday party on Wednesday, Dec. 20th. A sign-up sheet will be posted on the bulletin board outside the classroom door. There will be a visit from Santa. If you would like to buy a picture of your child with Santa, the cost is $3.00.
There will be no class from Dec. 22nd - Jan. 1st. Class resumes on Tuesday, Jan. 2nd.
We follow the Boardman Local Schools. If Boardman is closed due to bad weather, so are we. If Boardman is on a 2 Hour Delay, so is our class. Class will then be from 10:30am – 2:00pm. If a delay occurs, please pack your child a lunch.
