Kindergarten February Newsletter

Thank you to all the parents who signed up for Parent- Teacher conferences. It was nice discussing your child’s progress with you!

We will be working on the letters Vv, Zz, Xx, and Jj this month. We will continue to work in our letter books as well.

In math, we have been doing a lot of graphing and some addition and subtraction. We will continue to work on number formation. Please have your child practice writing the numbers 1 – 20 at home.

In science, we will discuss Groundhog’s Day and explore shadow formation.

In Social Studies, we will talk about Presidents’ Day, Community Helpers, and Black History month. We will be having some community helpers come and visit us too!

February is Dental Health Month. We will discuss going to the dentist and keeping our teeth healthy!

We will be celebrating our 100th Day of School this month. The children will bring in 100 objects for us to count. For example, they may bring 100 pennies, 100 Fruit Loops, 100 Legos, etc. We will also be having an ice cream party that day!

We will be having our Valentine’s Day Party on Wednesday, Feb. 14th. Please help your child make a Valentine’s Day box at home and bring it to school on Valentine’s Day. If you’d like, you may send in treats and Valentine’s Day cards for 6 children.

There will be No School on Friday, Feb.16th or Monday, Feb. 19th.

Just a reminder: If your child wears boots to school, please send in tennis shoes for him/her to change into.

Your child’s tuition is due the first day he/she comes to class each month.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at any time.

Sincerely,

Miss MaryAnn
